My cousin, Martin Francis "Franny" Shaughnessy, was born in Lowell, MA on 8/11/13. His hometown was Somerville,MA. He was awarded the Silver Star posthumously on the 5th of June 1945, for gallantry in action as a Forward Observer. Personal information was obtained from our family records. His additional military information was recorded with the Ninth Infantry Division with which he served.
